Sir Richard Branson’s paradise offshore formations Necker Island has gone up in flames after being hit by lightning.
The posh £60 million Island based in the British Virgin Islands was battered by Hurricane Irene and it also resulted in the Virgin tycoon’s personal offshore company incorporation suffering an absolutely horrifying inferno.
The multi-million-pound home on the Caribbean island, that boasts eight bed rooms, caught fire and also resident celebrity Kate Winslet who was holidaying at the time, helped save Branson’s 90 year-old mother. As family, friends and fellow VIP guests fled the smouldering wreckage; the Oscar-winning actress showed bravery and carried the OAP to safety.
Accounts claim the Titanic star behaved with courage just like a genuine Hollywood heroine as she grabbed the grandmother up in her arms and carried her out of the estate while it began to crumble and flame.
This tropical isle normally brags about its spectacular white sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters and may get hired for £34,000 per night. All guests got out of the tragic accident unharmed with little injuries.
Branson’s daughter was expected to marry there later this coming year but storm warnings have also been issued for other offshore company registration hot spots like Bahamas.
